Want to Turn Your Social Media Skills Into Real-World Experience?
GirlSpring is looking for a Social Media & Reels Creator Intern to help grow our Instagram presence and share the stories, ideas, and opportunities that matter to girls ages 9–18.
This isn’t an internship where you’ll just be asked to schedule posts or watch someone else run the account. You’ll have the opportunity to create content, develop social media ideas, edit Reels, build a content calendar, and help shape how GirlSpring shows up online.
What You’ll Do
As a Social Media & Reels Creator Intern, you’ll help bring GirlSpring’s mission to life through Instagram.
You might:
- Create Instagram posts, Stories, and Reels
- Edit existing photos and video footage into engaging social content
- Help develop and manage a content calendar
- Create content that promotes GirlSpring articles, events, programs, and opportunities
- Create sponsor and event content
- Develop creative ways to get people from Instagram to the GirlSpring website
- Experiment with trends, formats, and ideas that can help GirlSpring reach new audiences
- Help tell the stories of the girls, programs, and people who make GirlSpring what it is
You’ll also have the chance to create work that can become part of your professional portfolio.
This Could Be a Great Fit If…
You already have experience creating social media content for a brand, business, organization, or nonprofit and want to take that experience further.
We’re especially interested in someone who:
- Knows Instagram and understands what makes people stop scrolling
- Can create and edit engaging Reels
- Is comfortable using Canva or other design tools
- Has a strong visual eye
- Is creative, but also organized enough to consistently meet deadlines
- Can work independently in a remote environment
- Cares about creating a more supportive, empowering world for girls
You don’t need to know everything. But you should be someone who is excited to make things, try ideas, learn what works, and see your work make a difference.
What You’ll Leave With
This internship isn’t just about adding another line to your resume. You’ll leave with tangible experience you can take into your next internship, job, or creative opportunity.
Depending on your performance and school requirements, you’ll have the opportunity to receive:
- College credit, if applicable
- A professional reference from GirlSpring upon successful completion of the internship
- Portfolio-ready social media work created for a real nonprofit brand
- Hands-on experience in Instagram strategy, Reels, video editing, graphic design, and content planning
- Professional feedback and mentorship as you develop your skills
- Real ownership of creative projects that help GirlSpring reach more people
You’ll be creating work that has a purpose, building skills employers actually look for, and leaving with something you can show future employers.
Interested?
If you’re ready to put your creative skills to work for something bigger than your own feed, we’d love to hear from you.
To apply, submit:
- Your resume
- A short cover letter, no more than 300 words, explaining why you’re interested in GirlSpring and the role
- Three to five examples of social media work you’ve created or managed for a brand, business, or nonprofit, especially Reels or Instagram posts
Application deadlines:
- 2026 Fall Semester Deadline: September 22, 2026
- 2027 Spring Semester Deadline: December 1, 2026
