Dolly Parton, known as the “Queen of Country Music” rose to become one of the most influential figures in entertainment and philanthropy. Dolly grew up in a tiny cabin in Tennessee with her large family as one of twelve kids. Her family didn’t have much but they always had lots of love and music. Even as a child, Dolly wrote songs and sang for anyone who would listen. Sometimes she would even perform for her local radio and TV programs.

Once she graduated high school, she packed her bags and moved to Nashville where she hoped to make her dreams of being a musician true. It didn’t take long for people to notice her and her many talents. She wrote famous songs like “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” and starred in movies like Steel Magnolias, Unlikely Angel, and even Hannah Montana! She collaborated with lots of other stars like Kenny Rogers, Miley Cyrus, and Beyonce.
Helping Others
Dolly didn’t just sing– she used her success to help others. She opened up a fun theme park in her hometown called Dollywood, which gave lots of people jobs and benefits.
