when life gives you
lemons,
what do
you do with them?
where do you hide
the things that are
too sour
to be seen?
how do you cook
with ingredients
that pucker
your lips?
life has given
me quite a few
lemons,
so i have had
a lot of time
to ponder
how to use them.
and after years
of getting lemons,
i have finally
come to realize
that not all recipes
made with lemons
make me miserable.
and that maybe
the tart parts
of my life
do not always
need to be stowed
away.
