Poem: Just Me and The Sky… and Wires

Walking down mossy sidewalks,

not staring down at my feet.

Looking straight,

trying to feel confident.

I don’t feel confident.

I look up at the clear sky,

but there’s something blocking it too.

There are wires,

looking entangled with the wallpaper of blue.

They don’t look that bad.

They add a little touch

to the big blanket of azure.

There’s still something I want to see,

that maybe the wires are blocking.

They were.

Hiding behind them

was the real picture.

It’s blank.

It feels blank.

You only think that it is blank.

Too used to the wires being there,

I felt empty for a brief moment.

I could finally begin to see though,

the true picture of the full blue sky.
